WELCOME TO FRIENDS OF BEECROFT GARDEN PRIMARY SCHOOL (FOBS)
OUR MISSION
To advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by,
a) developing an effective relationship between the staff, parents and others associated with the school and;
b) engaging in activities, or providing facilities or equipment, which supports the school and enhance the education of the pupils.
HOW HAVE SCHOOL BUDGET'S BEEN CUT
Since 2015, school funding has effectively been cut back year on year and Beecroft Garden is no exception. The effect of COVID has increased the need for us to support our families through this crisis, as well as the school recovery.
The government’s national education budget has increased over the years but not as much as inflation. Therefore school budgets are going to continue to be tight as inner London schools will not benefit from future new school funding announcements.

FOBS are constantly looking for new ways to support the school and our community, with an aim to provide an exciting and stimulating environment for our children.

Our school demographic has changed over the years, and with that there has been a considerable reduction in funding from pupil premium (linked to free school meal entitlement), which provides an additional £1000 per pupil for the whole of their primary school journey.
WHAT WE'RE RAISING FUNDS FOR
To help with the shortfall, we are currently trying to fund the following items that the school has requested:

a) Replace laptops & iPads £22,000 (*12,000 was given to the school in February 2021 to help support those at home with limited devices)
b) Replacement staff computers £6,000
c) Replace out of date CCTV £6,000

We also fund incidental expenses throughout the year as they arise. This year is no exception and we are sure there will be shortfalls as the school implements its COVID recovery curriculum.
SIMPLE WAYS YOU CAN HELP US
There are lots of ways that don't all involve cash donations or hours of your time
WHO WE ARE
We are a voluntary group of parents and carers (similar to a PTA) who work with the school to support our community and raise funds for the school.
Our primary objectives are to:
Develop an effective relationship between the staff, parents and others associated with the school;
and engage in activities, or provide facilities/equipment, which supports the school to enhance the education of our children.

We aim to develop the parent community, create networks, and utilise skills to help the school meet its goals.
